1. Acceptance of Terms

​

1.1 By enrolling in services offered by Train My Dog (“we”, “us”, “our”), you (“you”, “your”, “client”) agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

​

1.2 Our services are tailored specifically for you and may not be transferred to another person without our prior written approval.

​

1.3 By using our services, you are bound by any policies, guidelines, or additional terms made available through our website or directly communicated to you.

​

1.4 Your participation signifies that you are legally able to enter into a binding contract and that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.

​

2. Service Description

​

2.1 Train My Dog provides dog training services through a variety of formats, including:

• Puppy Classes

• Group Training Classes

• Private Training Sessions

• Behavioural Consultations

• Other services as advertised from time to time (“Services”)

​

2.2 All puppy classes follow a standard curriculum designed to provide consistency in training outcomes.

​

3. Registration and Safety Requirements

​

3.1 You confirm that the information provided upon registration is complete, accurate, and current. You must inform us of any changes promptly.

​

3.2 You agree to follow all safety instructions provided during classes.

​

3.3 You must disclose any history of aggression or sensitivities your dog may have. It is your responsibility to manage your dog safely at all times.

​

3.4 Dog training involves physical activity and carries an inherent risk. By attending, you accept all risks involved and indemnify Train My Dog against injury or damages.

​

3.5 Covered, enclosed footwear must be worn by all handlers. Failure to wear appropriate footwear may result in exclusion from class.

​

3.6 Children under 14 years of age may not handle dogs during classes. If children are present, they must be supervised at all times and must not disrupt the session.

​

3.7 Please ensure that children do not approach other dogs within the class.

​

3.8 Handlers are advised to dress appropriately for outdoor sessions, including sun protection.

​

4. Payments, Cancellations & Refund Policy

​

4.1 Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the start of a course or session are non-refundable.

​

4.2 Cancellations made with at least 48 hours’ written notice are eligible for a full refund or credit towards another course.

​

4.3 No refunds will be issued for partially attended or missed classes.

​

4.4 If you withdraw after the course has started, no refunds are available, although alternative arrangements may be offered at our discretion (additional fees may apply).

​

4.5 No refund is available for a change of mind once services have commenced.

​

4.6 Rescheduling requires a minimum of 48 hours' notice. Missed private sessions may incur an administrative or travel fee.

​

5. Puppy School Requirements

​

5.1 Dogs must be on a secure, non-retractable lead and fitted with a suitable collar or harness, (no check chains, pinch collars, or e-collars allowed).

​

5.2 Items to bring:

• Standard lead and collar or harness

• High-value treats

• Puppy’s vaccination certificate

​

5.3 Only puppies aged 8–16 weeks with at least their first vaccination are eligible.

​

5.4 Playtime between puppies will be carefully managed by the trainer and is not guaranteed.

​

5.5 Ill puppies or puppies showing signs of illness will not be permitted to attend.

​

6. Group Class Requirements

​

6.1 Dogs must remain on lead at all times.

​

6.2 Please maintain distance between dogs unless instructed otherwise.

​

6.3 Items to bring:

• Standard lead and collar or harness

• High-value treats

• Up-to-date vaccination certificate

​

6.4 Handlers must be in control of their dog at all times. One handler per dog is required.

​

6.5 All dogs must be fully vaccinated to participate.

​

7. Suitability for Group Classes

​

7.1 Some dogs may not be suited to a group environment due to fear, stress, or aggression. In such cases, private training may be recommended.

​

7.2 If your dog displays behaviours that pose safety concerns, your enrolment may be paused, and we may suggest alternative training options.

​

8. Sick or Injured Dogs

​

8.1 Please contact us immediately if your dog is unwell or injured to discuss options for rescheduling.

​

8.2 Dogs who are sick, injured, or recovering from surgery must not attend group classes.

​

9. Assumption of Risk

​

9.1 You accept that participation in training carries risks to you, your dog, and others.

​

9.2 By attending, you agree to release Train My Dog from any liability arising from injury, loss, or damage during training sessions.

​

9.3 You are responsible for the behaviour and control of your dog at all times.

​

10. Weather Policy

​

10.1 Training may be postponed during storms, extreme heat, or hazardous weather conditions at the trainer’s discretion.

​

10.2 We will contact you as soon as possible if classes are rescheduled due to weather.

​

10.3 You are responsible for assessing your dog’s wellbeing in any weather and must notify us if you choose not to attend.

​

11. Changes to Services

​

11.1 We reserve the right to modify, reschedule, or discontinue services when necessary, including changes to venue or class times.

​

11.2 We will notify you of significant changes but are not liable for any resulting inconvenience.

​

12. Media Consent

​

12.1 Photos or videos of clients and/or their dogs will only be taken with your explicit consent at the time of the session.

12.2 We will also request your separate consent before using any such images for promotional or marketing purposes online or in print.

12.3 You are under no obligation to consent to photography or video, and declining will not affect your participation in our services.

12.4 Your personal information — including your name, contact details, any identifying data, and any images of you or your dog — will never be shared, sold, or disclosed to any third party under any circumstances unless required by law.

13. Code of Conduct

​

13.1 Clients must behave respectfully toward other handlers, dogs, and staff.

13.2 Aggressive, abusive, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.

13.3 We reserve the right to remove any person or dog from a class for breaching this agreement.

 

14. Training Methods & Use of Equipment

14.1 Train My Dog is committed to using only positive reinforcement, force-free training methods.

14.2 Aversive training methods, punishment, or the use of aversive tools (including but not limited to prong collars, check chains, shock/e-collars, spray collars, head harnesses or other corrective devices) are strictly prohibited in all classes and private sessions.

14.3 Clients must comply with this requirement at all times.

14.4 Any use or attempted use of punishment or aversive methods or tools during our services will result in immediate termination of this agreement without refund.

 

15. Indemnity

15.1 You agree to indemnify and hold Train My Dog harmless from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising out of your or your dog’s participation in our services.

 

 

16. Termination

16.1 We reserve the right to terminate your enrolment at any time if you breach these Terms and Conditions.
