Terms & Conditions

Train My Dog - Brisbane, QLD​

1. Acceptance of Terms

1.1 By engaging services with Train My Dog (“we”, “us”, “our”), you (“client”, “you”) agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1.2 These Terms form a binding agreement. By booking or attending any service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted them.

1.3 Services are provided to the registered client and are not transferable without prior written consent.

 

2. Services

2.1 Train My Dog provides dog training and behavioural services, including but not limited to:

  • Puppy Classes

  • Group Training Classes

  • Private Training Sessions

  • Behavioural Consultations

2.2 Training plans are tailored to each dog; however, outcomes cannot be guaranteed due to variables including environment, consistency, and individual dog behaviour.

 

3. Australian Consumer Law (ACL)

3.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

3.2 To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to:

  • Re-supplying the services; or

  • Payment of the cost of having the services supplied again

 

4. Recreational Services & Risk Warning

4.1 You acknowledge that dog training is a recreational activity that involves inherent risks, including (but not limited to):

  • Dog bites, scratches, or collisions

  • Injury caused by unpredictable animal behaviour

  • Environmental hazards

4.2 By participating, you accept these risks.

4.3 To the extent permitted under applicable legislation, you agree that Train My Dog is not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from risks inherent to these activities.

 

5. Client Responsibilities

5.1 You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your dog

  • Disclose any history of aggression, fear, or behavioural concerns

  • Follow all instructions given by the trainer

5.2 You are responsible for:

  • Your dog’s behaviour at all times

  • Maintaining control of your dog during sessions

  • Any injury or damage caused by your dog

 

6. Health & Safety Requirements

6.1 Dogs must be:

  • Appropriately vaccinated (as required for the service)

  • Free from contagious illness

  • Fit to participate

6.2 We reserve the right to refuse participation if a dog is unwell, injured, or poses a safety risk.

6.3 Handlers must:

  • Wear enclosed footwear

  • Supervise children at all times

  • Ensure children do not approach other dogs

 

7. Equipment & Training Methods

7.1 Train My Dog uses force-free, positive reinforcement training methods.

7.2 The use of aversive tools or methods is strictly prohibited, including:

  • Prong collars

  • Check chains

  • E-collars/shock collars

  • Any punishment-based techniques

7.3 Failure to comply may result in immediate removal without refund.

 

8. Group Class Suitability

8.1 Not all dogs are suited to group classes.

8.2 If your dog displays behaviour that compromises safety or welfare, we may:

  • Pause your participation

  • Recommend private training instead

 

9. Payments, Cancellations & Refunds

9.1 Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable.

9.2 Cancellations with at least 48 hours’ notice may receive:

  • A refund; or

  • A credit toward future services

9.3 No refunds are provided for:

  • Missed sessions

  • Partially completed courses

  • Change of mind after services commence

9.4 Rescheduling requires a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.

 

10. Weather Policy

10.1 Sessions may be postponed due to unsafe weather conditions.

10.2 We will notify you as soon as possible if rescheduling is required.

 

11. Changes to Services

11.1 We reserve the right to modify or reschedule services where necessary.

11.2 This includes changes to trainers, locations, or session times.

 

12. Veterinary Emergency Consent

12.1 If your dog becomes ill or injured during a session and you cannot be contacted, you authorise Train My Dog to seek veterinary treatment if reasonably necessary.

12.2 Any veterinary costs incurred are the responsibility of the client.

 

13. Media Consent

13.1 Photos or videos will only be taken with your consent.

13.2 Separate consent will be obtained for marketing use.

13.3 Your personal information will not be shared with third parties unless required by law.

 

14. Code of Conduct

14.1 Clients must behave respectfully toward staff and other participants.

14.2 We reserve the right to remove any person or dog for:

  • Aggressive behaviour

  • Disruptive conduct

  • Breach of these Terms

No refund will be provided in these circumstances.

 

15. Limitation of Liability

15.1 To the extent permitted by law, Train My Dog is not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential loss

  • Loss arising from client failure to follow instructions

15.2 Our total liability is limited as outlined in Clause 3.

 

16. Indemnity

16.1 You agree to indemnify Train My Dog against any claims, loss, or damage arising from:

  • Your dog’s behaviour

  • Your failure to follow instructions

  • Any breach of these Terms

 

17. Termination

17.1 We may terminate services immediately if:

  • Safety is compromised

  • These Terms are breached
